The Proficient Scholar and Family

Julia Carson is a first-grade student at Shining Star Elementary School. The EEG Family Engagement Score™ is 85.

The prescription for Proficient is a combination of the following:
• Scholar and family attend the weekly EEG sessions
• Address the needs of scholars and families to move into the transformational zone
• Address opportunities to motivate, encourage, and support scholars and families
• Actively track academic progress and coordinate engagement between scholars, families, teachers, and EEG

Scenario 3 - Maximizing Your EEG Family Engagement Score™

The Needs Improvement Scholar and Family

Maxwell Washington is a third-grade student at Shining Star Elementary School. The EEG Family Engagement Score™ is 55.

The prescription for Needs Improvement is a combination of the following:
• Attend the weekly EEG sessions
• Address the areas related to needs improvement
• Provide focused academic strategies and supports for the scholar and family
• Actively track academic progress and coordinate engagement between scholars, families, teachers, and EEG

Scenario 4 - Maximizing Your EEG Family Engagement Score™

The Targeted Intervention Scholar and Family

Micheal Conner is a first-grade student at Shining Star Elementary School. The EEG Family Engagement Score™ is 35.

The prescription for Targeted Intervention is a combination of the following:
• Attend the weekly EEG sessions
• Work to determine the root cause of scholar and family engagement issues
• Provide targeted intervention strategies for the scholar and family
• Actively track academic progress and coordinate engagement between scholars, families, teachers, and EEG

EEG Scholar Profiles (Grades K – 3)

• 4.0 grade point average in core subjects (math, science, reading, social studies)
• Completes at least 12 hours of academic studies at home per week
• Actively engaged and on-task during instructional periods
• Thinks critically and completes assignments on time
• Fosters positive relationships with fellow scholars
• Fosters positive relationships with teachers and school leaders
• Follows district, school, and classroom rules
• Is active during recess and selects healthy food options
• Works with teachers and parents to write and achieve goals
• Maintains perfect attendance with approved absences
EEG Families and Expectations
EEG Family Profile (Supporting Scholars in Grades K – 3)

• Reviews report cards, progress reports, and is aware of school/class programs
• Creates an appropriate home learning environment
• Meets regularly with teachers to ensure the scholar remains on task
• Provides opportunities for the scholar to think critically
• Teaches the scholar how to build positive relationships
• Provides mentorship and leadership for the scholar and provides resources for improvement
• Sets rules and routines for the scholar to follow at home
• Provides the scholar with healthy food options and time for exercise
